I would be just fine if we could skip right over spring and move right into summer. Yes, I know spring is beautiful. Yes, I know having all 4 seasons is one of the joys of living in the PNW. I get it … but ahhhh … summer is glorious! Spending most of last summer in Eastern Washington was living my best life. My uniform consisted of my Magnolia farms tank top, cut off jean shorts, Berkenstocks and my aviators. I’d throw on my kimono on chilly mornings with my tea and book under the shade of my old growth trees.
Last summer we halted work in light of our bevvy of Airbnb rentals - so it was just a time to relax. At SunDaze we eat when we’re hungry (fix it yourself), take a walk when we want, visiting neighbors, float on the river. Nothing to strenuous and nobody watches the clock. Clean up is simple and nothing is too fussy.
So who wouldn’t want summer to get started?
This fall, amist the craziness of our US politics, I had begun to listen to Talk Radio. Something that drove me nutty up until this point. My family started to question my sanity because if you weren’t listening to country music, you weren’t in my car. (Changing the station could just get you ejected at 20mph! Except when the kid’s friend Nicole was in the car. We’d listen to 80’s/90’s hits for a little while.) But country had taken a back seat because it reminded me of summer and my sunshine seemed so far off!
We’re rounding the corner with only 6 months to go and I’m ready to start the countdown! Who’s with me?
