I never really thought of myself as a part of the women’s liberation movement or an activist. In fact, my mom always proudly stated that she would much rather have help changing her tire than do it herself, but common respect and consideration I do actively wish for all humans.
My daughter was just starting to get into lifting weights at college when she was approached by a fellow classmate who said “You lift like a girl …” to which she replied “Dude, I AM a girl!” She was really offended and whatever chance this guy had of flirting or getting a date went right out the window and she experienced her very first “girl pride” moment.
