Best Party Ever!

What a glorious day for a party yesterday! Okay, so it rained a bit, but thankfully NOT during the hours of 2pm and 7pm when our graduation party was in full swing on our back deck!

We'd been working so diligently on our back yard until about a week ago when we discovered the weather forecast had changed and predicted 80% chance of rain. And rain it did. At 9am that morning Kent experienced what seemed like a flash flood, but then blue sky emerged. Then about 11:30am the flooding came back! It's a darn good thing that we were prepared with plastic sheeting above the pergola and a tent above the BBQ, but the sky cleared of all rain and left us with a blue sky with a scattering of clouds. Overall, we lucked out!

So many of our friends and family came to congratulate my youngest on her high school graduation. The house was packed and it seemed that everyone was excited to be there. Such wonderful support from friends far and wide. My husband and I were absolutely thrilled with our preparations and being able to finally be proud of our hard work. The kids enjoyed their space around our new fire pit on the deck roasting marshmellows and listening to their music. Our wonderfully talented friend Puni prepared his very special marinated chicken and pork and I think our guests ate lunch and then stayed for dinner because he and my husband just kept the grills going. They were lining up for 2nd, 3rd, 4th servings of the pork!

Our baby felt so loved and honored that everyone came and stayed for hours in celebration. We created a framed map board that we asked everyone to sign and leave a little message with luck and advice to the new graduate. She will be taking that away with her to decorate her college dorm and start checking off areas she wants to visit.

Whew! Now we literally can relax! Our Crescent Bar Airbnb vacation home is completed and now we're happy with our home base as well. Now it's time to relax and ENJOY THE SUMMER!
